Being on an anti-depressant = bad?
No. It is not.
And yet there are still so many perceptions in our society that it’s is not a good thing…
This is probably why some people are reluctant to seek help, or ,even to admit they need help, which could potentially make it a silent killer
The medicine is there if we need it
The perceptions of others do not mean we cannot take it if we need it.
The perceptions of others do not mean we are broken if we need it.
It is okay to take medication.
It is there for a purpose,
To help us out,
At least until we can get back on our feet again.
And even so,
There is no need to rush weaning off medication either.
We do not need to beat ourselves up about it if we cannot wean off them just yet.
I did this.
I beat myself up really hard about this.
And then I came to a realisation…
By doing this, I am not going to help myself to feel any better.
I am sure the time will come.
When I can slowly wean them off.
And even if I can’t,
I won’t punish myself either.
I love and accept myself exactly the way I am.
